It wasn’t that long ago that if you wanted to make some extra money as a teenager, you only had a few options; working in Macdonalds or a Saturday job at a shop, paper routes, shelve stacking or other such menial jobs that pay minimum wage.
With the advent of the internet this is no longer the case, teenagers have almost as many opportunities to make money online as adults do. This post looks at some of the many ways teenagers are making money on the internet.
Write product reviews
Sites such as Ciao, Epinions.com and ReviewStream.com pay for people to review products. If you are a fast typer and have an opinion, this could be a good option.
Odd Jobs on CraigsList
CraigsList sometimes displays listings for ‘odd jobs’ such as landscaping or handyman jobs. Just look for opportunities in your area.
Sell Digital Photos
If you have a digital camera, and enjoy taking photographs, you may be able to make money online as a photographer. shutterstock.com, dreamstime.com, crestock.com. All of these sites are looking to buy digital photos to improve their stock image supply.
Paid Surveys
Paid survey companies are crying out for younger people to take their surveys. Companies want to target their demographic and collect market research from their target customers. Most online survey companies allow people aged 16+ to join – NEVER pay to gain access to these sites though – you’re meant to be making money not helping someone else make money!
Blogging
This is not something that will provide you with a lot of money quickly, but if you stick at it in a couple of years you could be earning a nice monthly income from ad’s on your site or any of the other ways to monetize your blog.
For example Carlocab.com is run by a (now 15 year old) blogger who started out at the tender age of 13 and now makes A LOT of money from his blog.
