Making Money with Mobile Apps – Part 1

by Dan on June 26, 2012

Smart phones have become hugely popular over the last few years. There are many different reasons for this and each smart phone obviously differs in some way from the next. There is however one universal feature amongst these smart phones that is the main reason behind such popularity, and that is the inclusion of apps. It’s not the predefined set of apps that makes things so appealing to a user however, it’s the almost endless amount of custom apps that are readily available for download on to your smart phone. The demand for these mobile apps is huge, and the possibilities are limitless. An app can be created for almost anything! Sounds like there’s money to be made here, right?

trans Making Money with Mobile Apps Part 1Well that’s because there is. You’ll notice that a large majority of apps don’t come for free, and this is because people are willing to pay for them, just like people are willing to pay most things that they think may be of value. You may think that the prices seem too low to make any real money from, but look at it this way – an app can be purchased within seconds, by anybody, at any time, any where. If you can create something that there is high demand for but little competition then you could make thousands almost effortlessly!

So you may now be asking how do you go about creating an app? Well, that can be seen as the tricky part, and unless you’re a programmer or developer yourself then you may struggle. Don’t get too downhearted however, as just as with most things in life it’s only as tricky as you make it. The good news is that you don’t have to know the first thing about building an app, you’re simply going to get someone else to do it for you.

There are app developers all over the web offering their services, and although it would be for a fee you can find them pretty cheap at freelancing sites like Fiverr and Elance. They won’t just come up with the goods that easily however, you need to instruct them on what they are to build. Without a good idea then you won’t have much luck making money so ensure that you do some research into the type of app you would like to create. Browse the online app store to see what’s hot or ask some friends what they would like to see, to get your juices flowing. Remember that your app will only sell if people find the need for it!

Best,

Dan
