Search engine optimization is the best way to bring new customers to a website. The way they do it is to have accurate keywords and content that match up with what a searcher, with a wad of cash, types in.

Wait a minute, not all people type perfectly accurately. There are so many mis-spelt words, but search engines still bring up results. Instead of having a dire view of the future generation, why not play them at their own game and collect their money. If they cannot be bothered to spell words properly, you need to add those to your website. This will be a key factor in strengthening your website marketing practices.

Thousands upon thousands of searching customers sometimes just get their searching wrong. They may even deliberately do it, to entice a completely new search engine results page. Take a new, under-performing website for instance; they will look for search engine optimization. What about the US spelling of the word, optimization? Search engines pick the easy way to a website, if yours has factors that are relevant to the searcher, your ranking will heighten.

Customers may even have cottoned onto the misspelled or even misspelt keywords and decided to add them. They will not only have more reports to run to see which ones actually work, but tapping into a difficult market is far more lucrative. Making money from illiterate or lazy website searchers is a grand way of boosting your profits and status online.

The analysis of the data you get is vital to understanding which keywords are working and even if you aren’t a typist yourself, have a go at smashing some keywords down. Don’t look at the keyboard, just do it. If you mis-spell any, keep them for yourself.

Google Attack Make Money Scams

Little Earner has always tried hard to separate the scams from the systems and earlier this week search giant Google finally took a step into the battle themselves.

We have all seen the “make Money with Google” websites, nasty single page sales sites with fast cars, flames or diamonds all over them. To anyone even slightly experienced at using the web to subsidies their income scams is all they will ever be however many inexperienced people have turned to the web for extra money in these difficult economic times and those are the people who have lost out.

Google has filed lawsuits against Pacific WebWorks as well as a host of unnamed small companies and individuals who have been utilizing the Google brand to trick consumers into buying services and products that rarely, if ever, show any form of return. They often hijack other brands alongside Google such as News Stations, Chat Shows or Broadsheets and often have little or no proof to backup the fact they were ever featured in these places.

In Google’s official blog post on the subject they spoke about how combating these scammers is an important part of Google’s job and that this large action is simply a high profile step taken alongside everyday measures such as banning Adwords users, removing sites from the index and suspending Adsense and other programs often hosted onsite.

How to Avoid the Scammers

Avoiding the scammers isn’t too hard, you just need to obey a few simple rules;

Do Your Research: Have a look around the internet, visit sites like our own Little Earner or a Make Money Reviews site. Find out waht other people think of the system. You may even like to have a chat on a few forums, after all it only takes a few minutes!
Know the Costs: Many of these scammer sites have hidden or secretly inflating costs. Make sure you read terms and condityion pages and remember if something is really free then they don’t usually need your credit card infromation. Pay with PayPal to ensure you have maximum protection and control should the service be subscription.
Use Common Sense!: The most important rule of all. If something seems to good to be true it usually is. It’s important to understand the real aspects of investment versus profit as well as knowing what you can achieve both in terms of time and ability. You heard me! Being shy about collecting other people’s money won’t get you anywhere. There is a simple method, use a tip box on your website. Whether you have a blog or offer advice pages in the midst of your products, if there is a tipping service available, the visitors might drop a few coins in.

If you run a blog website, you can actively promote your services by asking for a little reward from your readers. Give them something in return for donating, free of course, but it creates a bond and they will become a regular visitor. These frequent visitors will no doubt check out your entire website, clicking links everywhere. OK, so that might just be in a perfect world, but a donation button or buy me a beer/martini/coffee plug-in does work. If you want money, just ask for it.

In previous years talking about monetising blogs was considered by the community to be an act of treason. Selling your soul to make a quick buck!

This does not hold true any longer. You don’t have to sell out to make money from your blog. You just need to make sure that your moneterisation doesn’t detract from the main content of the blog and alienate your readership.

There are many ways that you can use your blog to generate an income, and each has it’s own benefits and pitfalls which I will explain in the following article.

The “Pay Per Post” Blog
Set up a multitude of niche blogs on either your own hosting or on one of the free blog hosts such as blogger or wordpress. Maintain them over a period of time, adding content and building up their PR, link profile and SERP ranking. Then submit them to any of the paid blog websites such as Blogitive, Review Me, PayPerPost or LoudLaunch – then start writing sponsored posts.
Pros You don’t need a large readership to make money. 20 people visiting your blog a day and you should be able to make $15 per blog per day.
Cons It takes a lot of time writing multiple posts for multiple blogs, and you have to invest time BEFORE you start earning money from them building up their authority.
The “Flagship” Blog
This is the most profitable but also the most time consuming way of making money from blogging. The aim is to develop a small number of blogs and focusing all your attention on making them popular in their niche. They should have a high readership and traffic stats. These sorts of blogs have the most potential for making money mainly in direct advertising sales.
Pros You will not only make money from your blog, you will also attain a certain amount of fame and notoriety from peers within your niche – this then means that after a while, your blog will start to promote itself as it’s fame grows.
Cons This sort of blog is VERY time consuming. Especially if you are not outsourcing and there is only you looking after the whole site. Expect a lot of work if you go down this route.
Automated Blogging
Automated blogs pull content in from RSS feeds, search engines and news resources to create content on your blog.
Moneterisation of these types of blogs is from contextual ads such as Google Adsense or affiliate links.
Pros Not a lot of effort has to go into maintaining these sorts of blogs after the initial set up.
Cons Low potential for profit and also ‘Splogs’ as they’re known are frowned upon by the community at large.
Affiliate or Adsense Blogs
This involves setting up a blog on a specific topic with highly priced keywords. Some SEO knowledge is needed in order to make a success of these types of blogs. The main emphasis is on link building to targeted pages anchoring long tailed keywords. Search engine visitors looking for that term will then click through and either click an Ad or convert on a product.
Pros Not a lot of time needed if you understand the basics of SEO. You can have a freelancer write SEO rich copy for the blog and build up it’s SERP rankings using the usual SEO techniques.
Cons There will be a lot of competition in highly priced keyword niches. Search traffic may not generate enough click throughs to make a substantial income

As you can see there is a lot of potential for bloggers to make money online using their blog. Don’t be scared of trying different things and don’t be afraid of putting off your users by adding some advertising to your site. As long as it doesn’t interfere with the usability and readability of your blog, I doubt that anyone will mind.
